All foreigners going to live or to work in Turkey, are obliged to obtain a residence permit within a month from the date of their entrance to the country and before starting to work.

In order to be able to reside long-term in Turkey, applicant should submit the following documents to the Police Department:

• 4 passport photos,
• passport,
• photocopies of the page bearing the photograph of the applicant in the passport,
• the page bearing the stamp indicating the last entrance and the page showing the validity dates of the passport, bank receipt or currency exchange receipt showing the savings account to cover a 300 USD spend per month.

The following documents are requested in the application for a residence permit for work purposes:

• 4 passport photos,
• passport,
• photocopies of the page bearing the photograph of the applicant in the passport, the page bearing the stamp indicating the last entrance and the page showing the validity dates of the passport,
• original and a copy of the work permit obtained from the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
